American Eagle Pallet Fire

March 25 - WFD responded to thousands of pallets on fire at the American Eagle Co. on Pennval Rd.
in Sewaren. The pallets were fully involved upon arrival. The use of elevated master streams, ground
monitors and handlines contained the blaze in about 50 minutes. A truck and trailer were also lost in
the blaze. The fire was fully extinguished nearly six hours later. Thanks to Fords, Colonia, Hopelawn
and Avenel for their response to the scene and to Iselin District 9 and Keasbey for manning Station 1
